Configurable Art is proud to present TIDAL MEMORY by artist Cristina Ghetti, developed as part of our Special Guests program.
The artist collaborated with Felipe Pantone and his team to explore the transformation of her MAREAS series into a new format, researching how a two-dimensional optical composition could evolve into a kinetic wall piece through material, structure, and movement.
TIDAL MEMORY translates Ghetti’s exploration of rhythm and perception into a sculptural object. Defined by black and white undulating lines, the piece evokes the motion of tides while introducing a dynamic element through a central axis that allows manual rotation. Balanced around its gravitational center, the piece can remain in any position, shifting the work from a static Op Art composition into an interactive experience, where each position generates a new visual reading.
The piece can be installed in multiple orientations, reinforcing the core principle of Configurable Art by allowing the viewer to actively engage with and redefine the work.
Cristina Ghetti is an Argentine artist based in Valencia, Spain. Her practice is rooted in geometric abstraction, expanding its possibilities through painting, installation, and new media. Her work explores concepts such as perception, immersion, interactivity, and synesthesia, while also addressing abstraction from a Latin American and feminist perspective.
Her work has been exhibited across Europe and the Americas, and is part of major public and private collections including MACBA (Buenos Aires), Fundación Ortíz Gurdián, Cité Internationale des Arts (Paris), Universitat Politècnica de València. She has also exhibited alongside key figures of geometric abstraction such as Julio Le Parc, Victor Vasarely, Carlos Cruz-Diez, Eusebio Sempere and José María Yturralde.
The exclusive edition of 30 units (70 x 17.6 cm) has been produced at Casa Axis in Valencia, Spain.

CONFIGURABLE
Special Guest
Configurable Special Guest is a collaborative program by Felipe Pantone that invites artists to develop a new piece together with Pantone and his studio. Each collaboration is released as a limited edition through the online platform of Configurable Art.
The program functions as an open space for dialogue and experimentation, bringing different artistic languages into the Configurable universe through shared processes and collective creation. While each edition reflects the invited artist’s own visual identity and practice, every piece is shaped through a close collaboration with Pantone’s studio and production methods.
To date, Configurable Special Guest has featured collaborations with Futura 2000, Vhils, Ghizlane Agzenaï, Sixe Paredes, Cristina Ghetti and Jesús Cuesta.
